Frequently Asked Questions:

- Are the age requirements obligatory?
- Yes, at the time of applying the canditate must be between 25 and 35 y.o.

- Can a candidate apply several times?
- Yes, a candidate can apply unlimited amount of times.

- If a candidate does not have a TOEFL or IELTS certificate, can he/she apply?
- Certificate of English proficiency is not required while applying. If the candidate is selected as semifinalist, he/she will have the opportunity to pass TOEFL test free of charge at the American Councils office in Kyiv.

- When is the program application call open?
- The call is open twice a year - in spring and fall every year.

- How long does the internship last?
- The program lasts six weeks.

- What expenses does the program cover?
- The program covers all expenses related to the internship (flight, accommodation, meals and health insurance).

- Where do the participants live during the program?
- All of the participants stay with host families. Each of those families volunteers to host and does not receive any reward for hosting the participants.

- Can I choose state and organization where I would like to pursue my  internship?
- No, the office of American Councils in Washington DC selects the place of internship. While selecting the hosting organisation American Councils staff takes to account education, previous work experience and professional interests of each program participant.
